Show Your Pride! Pride Week is coming soon to Guelph
 This year, Guelph Pride will take place from Monday, May 5 to Sunday, May 12, 2012.
Celebrate your Guelph Pride from May 5th to May 12th, 2012! The Guelph Pride Committee is proud to bring you a week of queer "Pride" festivities celebrating the various rainbow communities in Guelph and surrounding areas.
Pride week hosts a variety of events including a Pride Symposium, a café style Teen Pride event and a movie night at the Bookshelf Cinemas. Legendary DJ Dallas spins the tunes at the ever popular Annual Pride Dance at the Holiday Inn on Scottsdale Drive on Saturday May 5th! Festivities end on Saturday May 12th with our fabulous Don't Dream It, Be It Cabaret.
On Monday May 7th at noon the honourable Mayor Farbridge will be a guest speaker at the Flag-Raising Ceremony at Guelph City Hall. The rainbow flag will fly in recognition of the diversity of the rainbow communities, recognizing the struggles and celebrating the successes of these communities.
"Seeing the rainbow flag flying at City Hall may seem a small thing to some, but for me it's a visible statement that I belong here in Guelph. I have friends who change their daily routine just to see the flag", says Gessica Bell, one of Pride 2009 organizers. "We are proud to live in Guelph, a city which honours all of its citizens."
Pride week is a celebration of the rainbow community, their friends, and their families adds Tamarra Vivian, a Guelph Pride 2010 organizer. Come on out and show your Pride by joining us for this year?s exciting events!
